The Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology is located within the NTU Building No. 1 and the MK Innovation Hall. Specifically, our classrooms, laboratories, and offices are situated on the eastern site of the second floor and the entire third floor of NTU Building No. 1, as well as the eighth floor of the MK Innovation Hall.
Our facilities include a variety of specialized rooms such as classrooms, laboratory exercise rooms, discussion rooms, conference rooms, a greenhouse, a herbarium, and instrument rooms. Additionally, the department hosts advanced laboratories dedicated to: Molecular Plant Pathology, Fungal Physiology and Molecular Biology, Plant Virology, Cell Biology, Disease Management and Molecular Genetics, Applied Microbiology, Applied Mycology, Plant Pathology and Data Analysis, Plant-Virus Interaction, and Molecular Plant-Microbe Interaction.
The department is well equipped with research facilities, including: temperature control equipment, sterilizing manipulation equipment, individual ventilation cage system incubator, research microscopes, phase contrast-dark field microscope, fluorescence microscope, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, microscope camera system, microtome, ultramicrotome, nucleic acid protein analyzing equipment, ELISA reader, fluorescent spectrophotometer, PCR-thermal cycler, electroporator, pulsed field gel electrophoresis apparatus, high-speed centrifuge, ultracentrifuge, speed vacuum dryer, HPLC, FPLC. In addition, we have two core laboratories specifically designed for molecular plant detection and histology.
The Department of PPM's extensive collection, comprising over 2,000 books and 400 journals, has been relocated to the NTU Library. These resources serve as invaluable references for both students and faculty, supporting our commitment to academic excellence and research innovation.
